If preparing was hard enough, then I had just proved myself wrong when it came to the night to set up the installation.
As the installation was placed in the centre of the atrium, the team could only start setting up after 9pm, and everything had to be done by that midnight. It was a 4m huge installation and we couldn’t move the entire piece from the basement studio to the atrium located on the first floor. Hence, we had to move strands and strands of flowers and reconstructed everything on the spot.
It was definitely a lifetime experience to own the atrium floor where I could just spread all the flowers everywhere, noone will complain. My team of 10 consists of professional florists, organisers, managers, technicians, students from the local uni. They worked their hearts out for this, each and every detail taken care of, and I could have never, ever, ever complete this without them. And before dawn peeked through the window, we cleaned off everything and still managed to get some sleep before another crazy round of events and workshops started in the next morning.
